Why bats need a specialist
Bats cannot simply be trapped and moved. The standard approach is exclusion: sealing the building and fitting one-way exits so bats leave on their own and cannot return. Because some bat species are protected, the methods and the timing have to be right.
Timing matters
In early summer, young bats cannot yet fly. Sealing a building at the wrong time can trap them inside. We plan bat exclusion around the season and explain the timing for your home.
A bat inside the house
Keep people and pets out of the room, close interior doors and call us. Do not handle a bat with bare hands. If anyone may have touched or been bitten by a bat, contact your doctor or the Minnesota Department of Health for advice.
Questions
Bat questions, answered.
Can you remove bats any time of year?
A single bat loose in the house, yes. A colony in the attic needs to be planned around the season so young bats are not sealed inside. Call us and we will explain what is right for your situation.
Will you clean up the droppings?
Yes. Animal feces removal and sanitation, along with attic restoration, are part of our repair services.
