Opossum removal in Minnesota

Opossums in the house?

Opossums are usually harmless and only become a nuisance when they start damaging property. They can carry ticks and disease, and they can draw other wildlife, like snakes, to your home. We remove them humanely and close the space they were using.

Signs

How to tell it is opossums.

  • Noise under the deck or porch at night
  • Torn or soiled insulation in the crawlspace
  • Overturned trash or pet food going missing
  • A strong odor from under the house

Where we find them

  • 01Under decks and porches
  • 02Crawlspaces
  • 03Sheds and garages
  • 04Behind insulation
  • 05Woodpiles

Harmless, until they move in

An opossum passing through the yard is not a problem. One living under your deck or in your crawlspace is: they tear insulation, leave droppings and can bring ticks close to the house.

Humane removal

We remove opossums with humane live traps and relocate them, following state wildlife law.

Close the space

The space under a deck or porch is the usual den. An exclusion barrier around it stops the next opossum, skunk or woodchuck from using it.

Questions

Opossum questions, answered.

Will an opossum leave on its own?

Sometimes. But if it has found a dry, safe den under your deck or in a crawlspace, it often stays, and others follow. Removal plus an exclusion barrier is the lasting fix.

Can you clean up the crawlspace afterwards?

Yes. Crawlspace cleanup, insulation and sanitation are part of our repair services.
